Bringing History and Cinema into the Classroom

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Regional Primary School of Tamasos and to the D1 class teacher, Annita Pampaka, for the invitation to screen our short film 30, which tells the story of a mother searching for her son during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.

It was a full and meaningful day, rich with thoughtful questions and dialogue—about the Missing Persons, the tragedy of Cyprus, the process of making a film, how a screenplay is written, the role of the actor, the active involvement of the director throughout the filmmaking process, and the promotion of a film.

We would also like to warmly thank the students of classes D1 and D2 for their insightful questions and for everything they shared with us. A special highlight—and a wonderful surprise for the children—was our Zoom connection, which allowed them to meet in person the much-loved actor and one of the protagonists of our film, Andreas Nicolaides.
